Building Momentum…
Hothead Technologies moves to Enterprise Innovation Institute at Tech
Coming off of a year of announcing the soft launch of the H.O.T. System, getting an endorsement from a future NFL Hall of Famer, and being named top innovation of the year by Popular Science magazine; Hothead Technologies continues to build momentum by moving their office to Georgia Tech’s premiere Enterprise Innovation Institute located in the Technology Square, downtown Atlanta.
“The decision to move our office to the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2) is one that we’ve contemplated doing for some time since the program opened in 2006… the same year we brought the Hothead brand to life,” says founder and CEO Jay Buckalew. “Within our philosophy we push to surround ourselves with some of the great innovators in the country and the EI2 is a perfect fit for us,” shares Buckalew.
Hothead Technologies, was accepted by the Enterprise Innovation Institute through the EI2’s entrepreneurial program which supports businesses in their pursuit of building smart technology that helps the economy and enhances our communities. A central part of the program is integrated with The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), which is a start-up accelerator that helps Georgia technology entrepreneurs launch and build successful companies. Founded in 1980, ATDC has helped create millions of dollars in tax revenues by graduating more than 120 companies, which together have raised more than a billion dollars in outside financing.
“Our technology is continuing to develop features from its core platform that will be effective in meeting the needs of human safety and bio-monitoring in an array of environments. The support from the Enterprise Innovation Institute is invaluable to us,” says Buckalew.
