Hothead and Hoover Taking on the Heat
at the National Select 7 on 7 Championship

For the first time in football history, Hoover High School goes high tech to protect the safety of their football players by gearing them up with the new H.O.T. System from Hothead Sports (A Division of Hothead Technologies). The National Select 7 on 7 Championship brings some of the best high school football talent from around the country to battle against each other and battle against the "dead heat of summer."

"This relationship is one that we appreciate Hoover and the staff of the National 7 on 7 Championship giving us. We don't take it for granted. Our technology is one that we really want the world to know about in terms of protecting our kids," comments Jay Buckalew, founder of Hothead Sports.

Last month was the warmest month on record worldwide, according to a report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, as reported by CNN Meteorologist, Angela Fritz on Monday. Hothead is there to demonstrate the Heat Observation Technology (H.O.T.) and alert coaches if any player's body temperature gets in the danger zone of possible heat stroke. 102.5 degrees is the standard setting that if exceeded over a period of time, will set off an audible alert and allow staff to pull a player aside and get him cooled off before return-to-play.

"Hoover High School and the National Select 7on7 tournament are proud to be the first to implement this player safety program with Hothead," says David Bannister of Hoover High.

"Hoover is asked all the time to work with companies because we have the largest national fan base, and we are the winningest program in Alabama football history. So we choose very wisely, and we are more excited about putting the HOTHEAD sensors in our kids Schutt helmets," comments Bannister.

Hothead Sports arrived this week to deploy heat sensors in all participating Hoover players' helmets. This evening in their first round of play, Hoover will be able to experience the H.O.T. System first hand.

"We have over 120 Varsity and JV Players that may dress out and practice. Our training staff, and those at the high school level do not have the man power and time to monitor and watch all the players. Hothead now lets us know when a player is overheating and putting himself in danger's way. The big benefit, which we hate to share, is the fact that kids that run at peak levels help us win more games!" says Bannister.

"Now all the teams we play can get Hothead and put player safety first and get peak results!" shares Bannister.
